:
Shallow running crankbaits, Balsa B or Bandit
100, fished around wood cover about midway back in the bigger creek arms and
pockets is still really effective. Brighter colors like firetiger and chartreuse
/ black back seem to be best. An Eakins' jig and twin tailed grub fished on
bluff ends and deep main lake channel swings is another good pattern. Best
colors are brown and Missouri craw both with a green pumpkin trailer. Anywhere
there is brush or other wood cover present will be holding bait and in turn
fish.
Crappie fishing remains tough with most fish
coming on live minnows over wood 10' - 25' deep.
