Lake - Pomme De Terre 10/03/04
:
The colder weather has made Pomme a little tougher,
the most consistent bite is an Eakins' Jig and Eakins' craw combo fished on
bluff ends and in bluff pockets early in the day, key on shady areas to be
successful. As the day goes on move out to deeper pea gravel points and flats
near deep water and fish them with a Jewel 5/8 oz. football jig in PB&J
with a green pumpkin twin tailed trailer or a carolina rigged french fry or
finesse worm. Hold the boat out in the deeper water and cast up on the flat
then drag the bait slowly back to boat.
Most of the crappie are being caught on minnows
in 15' - 20' of water around standing timber.
