With the water up and still rising the most consistent pattern
has been flipping an Eakins' Jig in black / blue flash in all of the "new"
shoreline cover created by the rising water. Look for areas that combine both
bushes and laydowns near deeper water to be the most successful and remember
when the water starts to fall the fish will pull out in a hurry. If you want
to head up the river be careful there is A LOT of floating debris and you
can't see most of it until you are on top of it. The bite above the Bolivar
ramp is pretty tough right now with all the muddy water anyway. When the wind
is blowing you can catch a few on a Jewel Rush Keel Tandem spinnerbait on
the flats and flat points around wood cover.
Crappie continues to be pretty good, best bet is live minnows
or tubes in wood cover 15' - 25' deep, the clearer water closer to the dam
is more productive.
