Lake - Stockton 10/29/04 :
Main Lake: The fishing seems to be different everyday on Stockton,
when the wind is blowing or it is cloudy the fish will be up shallow on flats
and points and can be caught on a Jewel Lavender Shad spinner bait or a rattle
trap near any wood cover. If there isn't any wind work an Eakins' jig on deeper
point and channel swing banks around any wood cover. There are good populations
of shad in most of the creek arms they just haven't moved all the way back
yet.
Above the bridges: Fish up the rivers are a little more active
than on the main lake and can be caught on Jewel Rush Keel Tandem spinner
bait in white / chartreuse and gold flash when there is wind blowing on gravel
flats. A wiggle wart in fire tiger or watermelon fished on channel swing banks
in the major creek arms and on the main channel is a great choice if you have
wind blowing on the bank. If it is calm pitch an Eakins' Flippin' jig in black
/ blue flash with a zoom flippin' blue super chunk around lay downs and log
jams near deep water.
Crappie fishing is getting better, most of the fish are still
being caught on live minnows, but some are coming on swimmin minnows and squirts
in 15' - 20' of water over wood.
Walleye are still being caught on main lake flats as well as
windy secondary points with Norman deep little N's in any shad pattern
White bass fishing is great when the wind is blowing, they will
stack up on windy flats and points and eat inline spinners and small crankbaits.
