Lake - Stockton 11/19/04 :
Main Lake: Still continue to catch fish on a crankbait on windy
banks on Stockton. If it is cloudy and windy fish a bandit 100 series or a
Norman middle N on chunk rock banks, if it is sunny but still windy switch
over to a wiggle wart on these same banks, the best colors are phantom green
and fire tiger. When the wind is not blowing the bite is much tougher, your
best bet is fish wood cover about midway back in major creek arms on channel
swing banks with an Eakins' Jig in brown with a green pumpkin Eakins craw
as a trailer.
Above the bridges: When you find the shad you will find the
fish up the rivers, best bites are on windy days with a Jewel Lavender shad
spinnerbait or a Bandit 100 series crankbait. The shad and fish can be anywhere
from main lake points to the backs of creeks and pockets you need to find
the shad in order to be successful. If there is little or no wind the fish
seem to be moving into heavy cover and can be caught on an Eakins' flippin
jig in black / blue flash with Zoom super chunk for a trailer.
Crappie fishing has been good, fish wood cover with tube jigs,
small grubs and live minnows in 15' - 25' of water.
Walleye fishing should improve as the water cools, right now
it is tough, try trolling night crawlers on spinner rigs on ledge rock points.
White bass fishing is getting better as the weather gets worse,
if it is a nasty windy, rainy day throw white rooster tails and chrome rattle
traps on wind blown flat points.
