Lake - Stockton 11/27/04 :
Main Lake: The best bite continues to be on a phantom green
or natural brown wiggle wart on windy chunk rock points and 45 degree banks.
If the wind is not blowing move to channel swing banks toward the backs of
creeks and coves and fish an Eakins' jig in brown / black with a green pumpkin
Eakins' craw for a trailer. The fish will be in a couple of areas; where the
channel makes initial contact with the bank and on any wood cover along the
channel swing bank.
Above the bridges: Be careful up the rivers there is A LOT of
debris in the water right now. The rain has really colored and cooled the
water up the rivers, way up it is muddy and the bite can be tough but the
color closer to the bridges is about as good as it gets. The fish have moved
shallow and can be caught on a Jewel Rush Keel Tandem spinnerbait in white
/ chartreuse, look for windy flat banks where there is wood cover and some
willows in the water. If there is no wind head to the deeper points and channel
banks with and Eakins' Flippin' jig in black / blue flash and a Zoom flippin'
blue chunk trailer and key on wood cover.
Crappie fishing has been hit or miss, fish wood cover with jigs,
small grubs and live minnows in 15' - 25' of water.
Walleye fishing has gotten better with most of the fish coming
on crankbait in 6' - 10' of water on windy points and pockets.
White bass fishing is really getting good, once the water level
settles a bit fish windy pea gravel with rooster tails and grubs
