Lake - Stockton 12/31/04 :
Main Lake: Gotta love this weather, 70 degrees on new years
eve! Still getting bites on Lucky Craft pointers, the size 78 is getting about
twice the number of bites, in chartreuse shad on main lake and secondary chunk
rock points, hold your boat in over 20' of water and fan cast the point. There
is also a pretty good jig bite on bluff ends and transition areas on channel
swings. An Eakins' jig in Missouri craw with a green pumpkin Eakins' craw
trailer is the most effective color, work the bait from the bank all the way
out to 25' of water.
Above the bridges: Really not allot has changed in the past
week; Eakins flippin' jig in black and blue with a blue twin tail or a black
/ blue tube fished around laydowns and rock piles on main river and major
creek channel swings. Also a few fish still being caught on Lucky Craft pointers
in chartreuse shad and nishiki on windy chunk rock points, you will most likely
catch a few walleye and big white bass as well on the jerk bait, it seems
every species in the lake moves up when the wind is blowing bait on these
points.
Crappie fishing is getting better, most of the fish have moved
to bluffs and can be caught on swimmin' minnows in 15' - 20' of water.
Walleye are still move of an accident than anything else, most
are being caught on jerk baits while fishing for bass on deep points.
White bass fishing has slowed a bit, when the wind is blowing
fish pea gravel points with rooster tails.
