Arkansas Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Bull Shoals 02/25/05:
Dam area to Lead Hill: Kentucky's and Smallmouth continue to
be caught on tubes and Jewel 5/16oz. spider jigs on ledge rock and deeper points,
look for the areas where deep water is close by. On windy days fish 45 degree
chunk rock banks with a wiggle wart or bandit 200 in a crawfish pattern, parallel
the bank in about 6' - 10' of water. Largemouth are moving into the northern
creek arms and can be caught on Eakins' jigs in PB&J with an Eakins' craw
trailer, look for most of the fish to be in transition areas.
Lead Hill to Power site: The walleye are still staging and can be caught on
Lucky Craft pointers and crankbaits in deeper pools up the river and in major
creek arms. They have not actually started to spawn so they are pretty aggressive
and tend to be bunch up, trolling seems to be the best method to catch them,
when you find one there should be more in the same area at the same depth.
The white bass are on the move as well, look for them to be running schools
of shad on windy points.
