Arkansas Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Bull Shoals 03/13/05:
Dam area to Lead Hill: Still catching quality fish on Jewel spider
jigs in 15' - 25' of water on both main lake and secondary points, mostly smallmouth
but an occasional Kentucky will be caught as well. Most of the KY's are still
holding deep on bluff ends and can be caught on spoons and drop shot finesse
worms in 35' - 60' of water, the bite is not great but you can catch a small
limit if you work at it. THe better fish seem to be moving into the northern
creeks, look for them to be on transition banks and rocky points, when the
wind is blowing a phantom green wiggle wart is hard to beat.
Lead Hill to Power site: A brown craw wiggle wart is still
producing fish on windy chunk rock points and channel banks. Look for the
fish to be in 3'
- 8' of water and most of your strikes will come as the bait bounces off
of a rock or other cover. IF there is no wind switch over to an Eakins' jig
in
PB&J with a Yamamoto cinnamon purple twin tail grub for a trailer and
fish these same areas to 20' deep.
