Arkansas Lakes Fishing Report

Lake - Bull Shoals 03/25/05:

Dam area to Lead Hill: Tubes and 5/16 oz. spider jigs are catching some big smallmouth on main lake and secondary pea gravel points. Hold the boat in 30' - 40' and cast toward the point, drag the bait slowly on the bottom and pay close attention to any changes in the bottom. Most of these bites have been very subtle, the fish will pick up the bait and swim out toward the boat so pay close attention.

Lead Hill to Power site: The best bite is still a wiggle wart or bandit in green crawdad patterns, fish main lake and secondary chunk rock / gravel mix points from 3' - 10' deep. Parallel these banks and try to hit as much cover as you can with the crankbait, the fish are hitting it as it deflects off of cover. Better largemouth are being caught on Eakins' jigs in PB&J with a Yamamoto twin tail trailer fished on deeper secondary points.
