Arkansas Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Bull Shoals 04/08/05:
Dam area to Lead Hill: Pea gravel and transitions are still the
key in the clearer water; fish are moving up shallow to feed early and late
or if the wind blows bait up on to a point. When it is calm a Jewel 3/16 oz.
or 5/16 oz. spider jig in gourd green or watermelon purple flash cast toward
the bank or point and slowly dragged back to the boat will catch fish from
10' - 20' deep. If the wind is blowing move up shallow and throw a lavender
shad spinner bait 3' - 8' deep.
Lead Hill to Power site: Wiggle warts and spinnerbaits are both still catching
fish up the river; natural green craw or phantom green wiggle warts fished
on windy transition banks is very effective, while a Jewel Lavender shad spinner
bait will work on shallow pea gravel with wood cover. An Eakins' jig in brown
or Missouri craw is also very effective when the wind lies down, look for steeper
banks near spawning coves and pockets to be holding allot of fish.
