Arkansas Lakes Fishing Report

Lake - Bull Shoals 05/06/05:

Dam area to Lead Hill: A few largemouth are still on the beds but for the most part the spawn is over in the dam area. Your best bet is to move to main lake and secondary pea gravel points and pockets and throw Jewel 3/16 oz. spider jigs in PB&J or brown / purple flash with Chompers 4" jig trailer in green pumpkin or PB&J. Cast the bait toward thee bank and slowly drag it back to the boat, many or the strikes just feel like you are loosing bottom contact, kind of a mushy feeling so pay close attention.

Lead Hill to Power site: Carolina rigging Chompers needle worms and lizards has really come on strong up the river, look for fish to be on secondary points near deep water as they recover from the spawn. Best colors have been watermelon, watermelon red and green pumpkin. Early and late there is also a pretty good top water bite in these same areas, sammy's, spooks and redfins are all catching fish.
