Arkansas Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Bull Shoals 05/13/05:
Dam area to Lead Hill: Just when we thought the spawn was over,
there seems to be another group of fish moving up to spawn. If you want to target
these fish try a Chompers ultra tube in white or a green pumpkin lizard and
work the bed until the fish react. For post spawn fish move out to pea gravel
secondary points and pocket, throw a Jewel 5/16 oz. brown / purple flash spider
jig with a green pumpkin Chompers jig trailer or a cinnamon purple Chompers
ultra tube. Cast toward the bank and slowly drag the bait back to 20' deep,
most of the bites are soft so you need to pay close attention to your bait.
Lead Hill to Power site: Mojo rigged or split shot rigged Chompers
needle worms and centipedes are accounting for some good numbers of fish. Concentrate
on pea gravel points and flats near deep water and drag the rigs from 6' - 15'
deep. Bigger fish seem to be coming on channel swing banks toward the backs
on major creek arms, look for transition areas where the bank changes from gravel
to chunk to big rock and throw an Eakins jig in Missouri craw with a Chomper
green pumpkin jig trailer.
