Arkansas Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Bull Shoals 05/29/05:
Dam area to Lead Hill: Early and late there is a pretty good
topwater bite on spooks, sammys and redfins on just about any deep point.
As the sun comes up move out on to pea gravel points and flats near deep
water
and throw Jewel PB&J 5/16 oz. spider jigs with a Chompers cinnamon
purple / jelly jig trailer. Hold to boat about 25' deep and make long cast
toward
shore, drag the bait back and work it slowly around any rock piles or wood
cover that you encounter. The bite is often just a spongy feeling or even
just losing contact with the bait.
Lead Hill to Power site: Carolina rigging lizards, baby brush hogs and french
fries has been the most effective pattern, look for fish to be on main lake
and major creek arm points and flats. Fish from 6' - 25' until you find where
the fish are holding. You can also catch a few fish on an Eakins' jig in Missouri
craw with a green pumpkin Eakins' craw, fish around transition banks and deeper
channel swings and pay close attention to any irregularities on the shore or
bottom.
