Arkansas Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Bull Shoals 06/03/05:
Dam area to Lead Hill: Still a real good top water
bite early and late; spooks, pop-rs, sammys, g-splash and redfins are
all catching fish in low light conditions. As the sun comes up you need to
move
deep pea gravel points and flats and fish
a Jewel spider jig in either 3/16 oz or 5/16 oz depending on home much
wind there is. My best color has been brown / purple flash with a 4" Chomper
jig trailer in green pumpkin. Pay close attention, allot of the bites have
been so subtle
you just seem to lose contact with the bait.
Lead Hill to Power site: Carolina rigs are still the deal above Lead Hill,
lizards, french fries and salty sinkers are all effective baits to use. Look
for the fish to be on points and flats near deep water, keep you boat 30+ feet
deep and work the bait down and across the points until you find the depth
the fish are holding in. In addition there are several fish being caught on
transition banks near channel swings in the major creek arms, use an Eakins'
jig in brown / purple flash with a Chomper cinnamon / purple / jelly trailer
an fish from 3' - 18' feet deep.
