Arkansas Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Bull Shoals 06/28/05:
Dam area to Lead Hill: Early and late you can catch several
fish on a spook, sammy or any other walking top water bait. As the day
goes by switch
to a Jewel 5/16 oz. spider jig in PB&J with a Chomper cinnamon / purple
/ jelly 4" jig trailer. Work the bait slowly on the bottom on pea
gravel points and flats, pay close attention the bigger small mouth seem
to be picking
the bait up and swimming at the boat with it so if your line goes slack
set the hook. There is also a pretty good drop shot bite on the deep
edges of
these same flats and points, a Chompers drop shot worm fish from 25'
- 60' has been
producing some really nice Kentuckies.
Lead Hill to Power site: Carolina rigs continue to be the
deal up the river, fish both main lake and secondary points and humps near
deep
water with either
a lizard, brush hog or french fry, any member of the "watermelon family" of
colors will be effective. As a secondary pattern an Eakins' jig in Missouri
Craw with a green pumpkin Chompers jig trailer has been very effective
around boat docks and channel swing banks with brush.
