Arkansas Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Bull Shoals 07/03/05:
Dam area to Lead Hill: A spook, sammy or any other walking
top water bait will work well on schooling fish early and late, have
one rigged and ready when the fish start surfacing. Jewel 5/16 oz. spider
jigs
in PB&J with Chomper cinnamon / purple / jelly 4" jig trailers
are working on pea gravel points and flats, drag the bait on the bottom
and pay
close attention to any irregularities you drag the jig over. Drop shots
on the deep edges of these same flats and points will produce several
Kentuckies,
try a Chompers drop shot worm in dark melon or sand from 35' - 60' deep.
Lead Hill to Power site: Still catching allot of fish on
Carolina rigs with either a Chompers skirted grub or a salty sinker as
bait, green pumpkin,
dark melon and watermelon red are all effective colors, fish points and
humps from 10' - 25' deep. An Eakins' jig in PB&J with an Eakins craw
has also been very effective on channel swing banks and steep rocky points
as well
as on deep boat docks. Fish the jig from 6' deep all the way down to
30' deep and pay close attention, many of the bites have been very light.
