Arkansas Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Bull Shoals 07/10/05:
Dam area to Lead Hill: Top waters early and late will produce
some vicious strikes on main lakes and secondary points. As the day goes
on your best bets are a Jewel football or spider jig in green pumpkin / green
flash with a green pumpkin Chompers 4' jig trailer or a Carolina rigged lizard,
baby brush hog or smallie beaver in green pumpkin. All of these baits need
to be presented on pea gravel / chunk rock mixed points from 10' - 35' deep,
work the baits slowly and maintain bottom contact through out the retrieve.
Lead Hill to Power site: Structure fishing is still your best bet up the
river as well, look of pea gravel / chunk rock mixed points that drop into
a main river or creek channel and fish either a Carolina rigged lizard or
baby brush hog or a Jewel 5/8 oz. football jig in brown / purple flash drag
the bait slowing on the bottom, most of the strikes are very subtle so pay
close attention. Flats in the backs of creeks are also holding a few fish
as long as there are shad in the area, throw a Lucky Craft RC 1.5 around
any wood or rock cover and you will be surprised the size of fish holding
back there.
