Arkansas Lakes Fishing Report

Lake - Bull Shoals 07/30/05:

Dam area to Lead Hill: If you can get on the water at day break you can catch a few fish on Sammys, spooks and even buzz baits, look toward the backs of major creek arms for fish working bait, once the sun gets up the bite is done until the next morning. When the sun gets up move out to deep pea gravel / chunk rock mixed points and fish a Jewel 5/16 oz. or 7/16 oz. spider jig in PB&J with a Chomper jig trailer down to 30+ feet deep, you will need to fish this bait slowly on the bottom to be effective.

Lead Hill to Power site: The buzz bait bite is a little bit better in some of the creek arms above Lead Hill it still shuts off around 8:00 am so make sure you get there early to take advantage of it. Just like in the dam area once the sun gets up the bite gets tough, look for most of the action to be 20 – 30 feet deep on main lake and major creek arm points. A Carolina rigged lizard or brush hog worked slowly over the point will get you a few bites.
