Arkansas Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Bull Shoals 08/08/05:
Dam area to Lead Hill: There are still a few fish being caught
on top water early and late, sammys, spooks and pop-rs are all catching fish
until the sun gets up. Once the sun rises move to deep pea gravel points and
flats and fish a PB&J Jewel spider jig or a small tube down to 30’
deep. Drag either bait on the bottom from 15’ – 30’ and
pay close attention to any rock or wood cover you run into. A spoon or Chomper
drop shot worm fished around deep schools of shad will catch a few Kentuckies
as well.
Lead Hill to Power site: Carolina rigged french fries or salty sinkers are
your best bet up the river, look for pea gravel points, humps and flats that
drop into deep water and fish from the deep water side. Drag the baits slowly
on the bottom and pay close attention most of the bites are very subtle. Early
in the day there is a buzz bait bite in the backs of some of the creek arms
look for fish surfacing and chasing bait to be successful.
