Arkansas Lakes Fishing Report

Lake - Bull Shoals 09/08/05:

Dam area to Lead Hill: Your best bet up around the dam is still either to fish deep with a spoon or drop shot worm or to drag a Jewel spider jig or small tube out to 30’ deep on pea gravel and pea gravel / chunk rock mix points and flats. The best color drop shot worms have been sand and watermelon / purple, the spider jig has been best in PB&J or brown / purple flash with a green pumpkin trailer and a green pumpkin / orange tube.

Lead Hill to Power site: There is still a pretty good top water bite early and late on Sammys, spooks or pop-rs, watch for surface activity to show you where the fish are located. As the day progresses move to channel swing transition banks and fish an Eakins’ jig in Missouri craw or Texas craw both with a green pumpkin Chomper 4”jig trailer. Work the bait from 6’ down to 25’ deep and key on areas with larger rock mixed in with the chunk rock and pea gravel.
