Arkansas Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Bull Shoals 1/15/05:
Dam area to Lead Hill: The colder weather has backed the fish
off away from the banks, the most consistent pattern is fishing deep with either
a spoon or a drop shot. Try a white or chrome 3/4oz spoon on bluff ends and
channel swings where you find shad on your graph. IF the fish are a little
finicky and won't eat a spoon switch over to a green pumpkin finesse worm on
a drop shot rig and work the fish until they bite.
Lead Hill to Power site: There is still allot of current in the upper end
of the lake, best bite has been either a Lucky Craft Point 100 in chartreuse
shad fished on deep rocky points with a little wind blowing on them. Fan cast
the point and work the bait slowly with long pauses between the twitches. The
other productive pattern is an Eakins' jig fished on bluff ends and channel
swings in both the main lake and major creek arms, fish a Missouri Craw Eakins
jig with a green pumpkin twin tail grubs in 10' - 25' of water.
