Arkansas Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Bull Shoals 12/12/05:
Dam area to Lead Hill: Most of the fish have moved up with
the drop in temperatures; smallmouth are being caught from 10’ – 35’ on
Jewel spider jigs, football jigs and Chomper tubes on the bottom and can
be found suspending with jerkbaits. Fish both main lake and secondary points
with a mix of rock to be successful. Kentuckies are suspending under schools
of bait in the “guts of the creeks” and can be caught on spoons,
drop shots and grubs, look for the bait and you will find the fish.
Lead Hill to Power site: The best bite going right now is a wiggle wart in
brown craw or phantom green craw fished on windy steep banks and points in
4’ – 8’ of water. Parallel the bank or point and make repeated
casts as the fish are shallow and roaming. If it is calm fish these same
areas with an Eakins’ jig in brown or Missouri craw with a green pumpkin
4” jig trailer, make sure to pay close attention to any larger rock
cover as it will hold most of the fish.
