Missouri Lakes Fishing Report

Lake - Pomme De Terre 04/01/05:

Crankbaits and spinnerbaits seem to be the ticket on Pomme right now. Look for fish to be relating to shad in the backs of wind blown pockets on the main lake, in the river and creek arms. Best baits have been a Jewel lavender shad or Rush tandem spinnerbait in white or white and chartreuse. Also throw a wiggle wart or bandit 200 in a crawdad pattern on wind blown chunk rock where it transitions to pea gravel. The jig bite is better when the wind settles, look for fish to be relating to wood cover in transition areas and throw an Eakins jig in brown / purple flash with an Eakins' craw for a trailer.

Crappie are pretty good right now on squirts, 2" grubs and live minnows over brush piles in 10' - 15'.
