Missouri Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Pomme De Terre 05/15/05:
A couple of patterns working well on Pomme right now; Carolina
rigging lizards, centipedes and finesse worms is accounting for good numbers
of fish on pea gravel flats and points near deep water. Work the bait slowly
from 6' - 20' feet pay attention to where you are getting most of your bites
and then concentrate at that depth. The river bite is beginning to pick up with
buzz baits and top waters working early and late around timbered points, as
the day goes on switch over to an Eakins' flippin jig with a chomper jig trailer
and work the log jams and channel swings carefully.
The crappie bite is still hit or miss, I have talked to a couple
people that killed them one day and couldn't get bit the next, try 2" grubs,
squirts and live minnows near spawning areas.
