Lake - Pomme De Terre 06/27/05:
The water is out of the bushes and the shallow bite left
with it, most of the fish are being caught 10' - 20' deep on 5/8 oz. Jewel
football
jigs in Texas Craw with a Chompers jig trailer or on a Carolina rigged
green pumpkin brush hog or salty sinker. Both baits are working well
on pea gravel
flats and points near deep water, drag the bait from 10' - 20' deep
and pay close attention many of the bites are very soft. Up the river a
Texas
rigged
purple or blue fleck power worm is tough to beat, make a pitch to every
piece of wood you see whether it is stand timber or a lay down, the fish
can be as
shallow as 8" deep if the cover and current are right.
Most of the crappie are being caught on live bait fished in the trees for
suspended fish.
