Missouri Lakes Fishing Report

Lake - Stockton 02/05/05:

Main Lake: Still high and still tough, the water color is starting to stabilize a little so a Lucky craft Pointer is still a good bet, best colors are chart. shad and aurora black, fish the bait with soft twitches not hard jerks and pause the bait for 15 - 30 seconds between jerks. If it is sunny the fish have been moving up into some of the flooded brush and trees so pay close attention to the trees with your bait.

Above the bridges: Just like last week your best bet is to fish channel swing banks with an Eakins' jig or Eakins' flippin finesse jig. Missouri craw has been the best color but you will still get more bites with a pork trailer instead of a plastic one. The key to finding the fish is to fish the area where the deepest water in the channel swing meets the bank, fish this area slowly and very thoroughly.

Crappie are being caught on both live minnows and swimmin' minnows on bluffs from 15' - 25' around standing timber.
