Missouri Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Stockton 04/10/05:
Main Lake: Best bite right now on the main lake is a white Jewel
Rush Tandem spinnerbait slow rolled on transition banks where chunk rock changes
over to pea gravel. Transition points with wood cover near spawning pockets
and bays are also holding fish; if the wind is blowing they can be as shallow
as 1' but without the wind you are better off split shotting a french fry or
Yamamoto cut tail worm. Best color in the fry and worm is green pumpkin or
watermelon candy.
Above the bridges: Still allot of fish being caught on a white / chartreuse
Jewel Rush Tandem spinnerbait fished close to wood cover or in shallow wind
blown pockets, look for shad to be close by to be successful. An Eakins' Finesse
Flippin' jig in black / blue flash will also catch fish in the wood cover,
if a front comes through or the wind lays down the Eakins' jig is likely your
best bet.
Still allot of small male walleye and the occasional female being caught in
the dam area and up the rivers, fish can be caught on crawler harnesses, crankbaits
and jerkbaits.
The whites are balled up in deeper pockets up the rivers, try rooster tails,
bandit 100's and small spinnerbaits.
