Missouri Lakes Fishing Report

Lake - Stockton 05/28/05:

Main Lake: It really looks like all of the fish are in a post spawn phase, most of the fish are being caught a couple of ways: A Jewel 5/16 oz. spider jig in brown / purple flash matched up with a Chompers twin tail jig trailer in green pumpkin fished on deep pea gravel points, flats and pockets will produce several fish. Early and late a pop - r or G-splash fished on deeper chunk rock points will catch a few active fish as well.

Above the bridges: The best bite has been with the new Lucky Craft RC 1.5 crankbait in copper shad fished around shallow timber, laydowns and ledges. Make repeated casts to each piece of cover to find the sweet spot. If that fails move to channel swing banks in major creek arms and fish an Eakins' flippin' jig in black / blue flash with a black / blue flake Chompers twin tail around any wood cover you find.

Walleye are still suspending around 25' deep on flats and gravel points and can be caught trolling crawler harnesses.

Crappie are being caught on live minnows in timber around 15' - 25' deep.
