Missouri Lakes Fishing Report

Lake - Stockton 08/12/05:

Main Lake: Still need to fish a little deeper on the main lake to get bit. A Carolina rigged lizard, salty sinker or french fry, a Jewel 7/16 oz. spider jig in Missouri craw with a twin tailed jig trailer on main lake points and drops will produce a mixed bag of smallmouth and spots. Points that have mix of pea gravel and chunk rock that drop sharply into 30’+ are holding more fish than shallow ones.

Above the bridges: A Missouri craw Eakins’ jig and green pumpkin craw combination has been the most productive bait above the bridges; look to deep points and channel swings with wood cover on them to be producing most of the bites. Early in the day a Sammy or spook fished off main lake points will produce a mixed bag of both large mouth and white bass.

Walleye continue to be caught trolling crankbaits and crawler harnesses on the face of the dam around 15’ – 25’ deep.

Night fish is still your best bet for crappie; live minnows below floating lights will catch most of the fish.
