Missouri Lakes Fishing Report

Lake - Stockton 09/10/05:

Main Lake: Still catching most of the main lake fish out away from the bank on structure. A Jewel football or spider jig in Missouri craw with a green pumpkin jig trailer or a green pumpkin baby brush hog on a Carolina rig will produce several bites when fished on drops and humps on the main lake or in major creek arms. Early and late you can also pick up a mixed bag on pop-r’s and Sammy’s off the ends of deep points.

Above the bridges: With the water down you still need to be careful running up the river there are a lot of stumps just under the surface that you wouldn’t normally see or hit. Early in the day you can still catch quite a few fish on a buzz bait or waking a spinnerbait on shallow flats where shad are present. Later in the day look for the fish to move to the shade of standing timber closer to the main channel.

The Walleye fishing remains good, trolling crawler harnesses and medium running crankbaits near the dam has been the best pattern.

Most of the crappie are still being caught at night on live minnows.
