Missouri Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Table Rock 03/08/05:
Kimberling City Area: You really only need two baits right now
in the Kimberling Area; a wiggle wart in your favorite shade of green and an
Eakins' Jig in brown/purple flash. Fish the wiggle wart on 45 degree chunk
rock points and banks with wind, parallel the banks in 6' - 8' of water. Fish
the Eakins' jig with a Yamamoto Twin tail grub around boat docks, channel swing
banks and transition areas toward the back of creeks.
James River: Just like the Kimberling area there are two baits working in
the James; a brown craw wiggle wart fished on chunk rock points and banks is
accounting for huge stringers of fish and a Jewel 5/8oz. football jig in Texas
Craw fished with a green pumpkin Yamamoto twin tailed grub on deeper points
and brush piles will work when the there is little wind. Fish the football
jig as deep as 30' deep, bites are few but the quality of fish is outstanding.
White River: Just like the rest of the lake it is hard to go wrong with a
wiggle wart up the White River right now as well. Best colors are phantom green
or watermelon, fish the same chunk rock and transition areas as you do in the
other areas of the lake. An Eakins' jig will also work very well here, key
on the transition areas leading to pea gravel toward the back of major creek
arms.
Dam Area: You can't beat a wiggle wart in the dam area as well,
translucent colors like phantom green or brown work very well in the clear
water. Look
for chunk rock or transition banks with wind blowing on them. You can also
catch several fish on a PB&J Jewel 5/8 oz. football jig with a cinnamon
purple Yamamoto twin tail grub for a trailer, fish deeper points and saddles
down to 35'.
