Missouri Lakes Fishing Report

Lake - Table Rock 03/19/05:

Kimberling City Area: The bite on Table rock is changing almost daily. On windy days fish chunk rock banks and points with a wiggle wart or Lucky Craft Pointer. Best color in the wiggle wart has been brown craw while the lucky craft in chartreuse shad has been the most productive. When there is little or no wind fish deeper banks and pockets with an Eakins jig in brown / purple flash with a green pumpkin Yamamoto grub twin tail for a trailer.

James River: The wiggle wart bite is still your best bet up the James look for fish to be 3' - 10' deep on chunk rock gravel mixed banks and points. Best colors on the wart have been brown craw and natural green craw, make sure your bait is making contact with the bottom or cover to be successful. A Jewel 5/8 oz football jig in texas craw with a green pumpkin Yamamoto twin tail will also produce several bites on the end of deep points.

White River: The best place to catch numbers of fish is the White and Kings rivers right now, keepers are not plentiful but you can catch a few through out the day. Lucky Craft pointers in Nishiki or American shad are very productive on channel swing banks and deeper chunk rock and bluff points. You can also catch a few quality fish on a PB&J Eakins' jig with a green pumpkin Eakins' craw trailer in deep pockets with rock and gravel mixed.

Dam Area: Three basic patterns are producing fish in the dam area; a Jewel Football jig in PB&J or watermelon / purple flash with a Yamamoto twin tail fished on chunk rock secondary points, A 4" Yamamoto single tail grub on a 1/4 oz. head fished in the tree tops in about 25' - 30' deep, or an Eakins' jig in brown or brown / purple flash fished in deeper ledge rock pockets from 6' - 10' deep.
