Missouri Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Table Rock 03/25/05:
Kimberling City Area: There are still a couple of different patterns
working in the mid lake area. Most of the fish are moving up and are being
taken on natural green craw wiggle warts on 45 degree chunk rock banks. Larger
fish can be caught suspended off these same banks in 10' - 15' of water with
a Lucky Craft pointer 100 in chartreuse shad or American shad, you only need
to pause the bait momentarily to be successful.
James River: Wiggle warts are still producing up the James also, the best
color is brown craw, fish it from 3' - 8' deep on chunk rock banks and points,
a little wind will really help this pattern. Spinnerbaits are starting to produce
a few fish as well, Jewel Rush tandem in white or white / chart. slow rolled
from 3' - 10' deep is you best bet, look for the areas where bigger rock turns
to chunk rock to pea gravel.
White River: Still great numbers of fish being caught in the White and Kings
rivers, while most of the fish are smaller males that are moving up and looking
for a place to spawn, the larger females can be caught suspending of secondary
points with Lucky Craft Pointer 78's in Nishiki or chartreuse shad. Pause the
bait for 2 - 4 seconds between jerks, the fish are pretty aggressive and have
been hitting the bait hard. Another good pattern up the Kings right now is
an Eakins' jig in brown/purple flash with a Yamamoto twin tailed grub trailer,
fish the jig in 3' - 15' of water on main lake and major creek arm swings.
Dam Area: The best pattern in the dam area is swimming a 4" Yamamoto
single tail salt and pepper grub on a 1/4 oz. head through timber on pea
gravel. The depth you will catch fish varies with the amount of wind you
have, the
windier the bank the shallower the fish will be. A good back up pattern
is a phantom craw wiggle wart fished on secondary chunk rock points in larger
creek arms and pockets. The fish are moving in and out all day and an area
you don't get bit on in the morning could be hot in the afternoon.
