Missouri Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Table Rock 05/14/05:
Kimberling City Area: A couple of good patterns working right
now; for numbers or fish fish pea gravel points and flats 8' - 15' deep with
a split shot rigged Chompers needle or drop shot worm or a Jewel 3/16 oz
or
5/16 oz. spider jig in PB&J with a Chompers PB&J jig trailer, for
bigger fish move to channel swing chunk rock banks in the major creek arms
and fish
an Eakins' 5/16 oz. jig in brown / purple flash or green pumpkin / green
flash put a green pumpkin Chompers jigs trailer on either one and fish
6' - 15' deep.
Broken rock and transition areas from bluff to chunk rock are holding most
of the fish.
James River: Similar patterns are wring up the James as well,
Carolina rigged lizards and brush hogs in green pumpkin and watermelon candy
are catching several fish on pea gravel points and flats near deep water.
An
Eakins jig or Jewel 5/8 oz. football jig will work on channel swing transition
banks where chunk rock changes over to "head" size rock to bluff.
Best colors are Missouri craw or brown / purple flash both with a green pumpkin
Chompers twin tail jig trailer.
White River: I continue to catch numbers of fish on pea gravel
points and flats up both the White and Kings rivers. A spilt shot rigged
lizard,
fish doctor or Chomper grub will all catch several fish from 6' - 15' deep.
Cast toward the point and simply drag it back to the boat, most of the bites
are pretty vicious so you won't miss many fish. For better quality move up
either
river and fish channel swing banks with an Eakins or Jewel 5/8 oz. football
jig in green pumpkin / green flash with a Chomper 5" green pumpkin jig
trailer.
Dam Area: Still catching some good smallmouth at the dam right
now, spinnerbaits and crankbaits are working early and late if the wind is
blowing;
a Jewel lavender shad with two willow leaf blades is hard to beat as is
a Lucky Craft RC 1.5. The fish are moving up and feeding very aggressively
in the morning
and in the evening on pea gravel points and flats. As the day goes on move
out and fish a Jewel 5/16 oz. spider jig in PB&J with a PB&J Chomper
twin tail jig trailer.
