Missouri Lakes Fishing Report

Lake - Table Rock 06/26/05:

Kimberling City Area: The deep bite has come on very strong, allot of fish are suspended in the trees and can be caught on sand colored Chompers drop shot worms. Look for the trees to top out at 10' - 40' and the fish will be suspended under the large branches. Spoons will work as well, but tend to hang up allot more. There are also a few fish being caught on boat docks with a brown / purple flash Eakins' jig and cinnamon / purple Eakins' craw. Look for the larger docks and start on the walk way and first couple of stalls in the morning and work your way deeper as the sun comes up.

James River: Jewel football jigs and Carolina rigged french fries and lizards are accounting for several nice fish up the James. Main lake pea gravel points near deep water have been the most productive as have secondary points in major creek arms. There area also a a few fish being caught on DD-22's, DT-16's and deep diving Lucky Craft crank baits, look for the areas where the channel swings in on a 10' - 15' deep flat and make long casts to insure the bait makes contact with the bottom near the channel swing.

White River: Jewel 5/8 oz. football jigs in PB&J with a Chompers cinnamon / purple / jelly 5" jig trailer has been the most effective bait from Campbell Point up above Big M. Look for pea gravel points and flats that drop into deep water and drag the jig slowly on the bottom from around 10' - 35' deep. A secondary pattern would be to drop shot these same areas on the actual drop, a Chompers drop shot worm has been the best bait, look for the fish to be on or near the bottom around 50' deep.

Dam Area: The best bite in the dam area continues to be a drop shot and a spoon, a Chompers sand drop shot worm in and around trees is working well for suspended fish and the spoon is working on drops and channel banks. Look for schools of shad to be suspended from 15' - 45' deep and the bass will be in and below them, many times early and late they will force the bait to the surface and school on top, a Sammy or Spook will work while they are surfacing and switch back to a spoon once the action slows on top.
