Missouri Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Table Rock 09/11/05:
Kimberling City Area: A few more fish being caught around boat
docks, key on larger docks that extend over deep water on mixed banks of
chunk rock and pea gravel. An Eakins’ jig in PB&J or brown / purple
flash with a green pumpkin trailer is your best choice, early in the day
the fish will be up around the walk way and bank side corners and stalls,
as the day wears on move out the deeper stalls and key on shady areas close
to the walk way.
James River: With the lack of rain and the “unseasonably” warm
weather there has been a delay in shad migration toward the backs of creeks.
With that in mind your best bet is to continue to fish summer patterns; Jewel
5/8 oz. football jigs with 5” Chomper jig trailers or Carolina rigged
baby brush hogs and lizards fished on channel drops and swings are your best
bet.
White River: From Baxter to Campbell point your best bet is still fishing
deep with a drop shot rigged needle worm or a spoon, look for trees that
top out at around 30’ over 60 – 80 feet deep. Above Campbell
point a Jewel football jig with a Chomper jig trailer will produce on pea
gravel point that drop into the main creek or river channel.
Dam Area: The dam area is the most stable area of the lake, drop shot rigged
finesse worms, salty sinkers and needle worms are all producing well in tree
tops, saddles and bluff ends. Dragging a Jewel football or spider jig in
PB&J with a green pumpkin on deep pea gravel flats near the main river
channel will also produce a few strikes.
