Missouri Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Table Rock 11/06/05:
Kimberling City Area: Still a steady deep bite around the Kimberling
City area; bluff ends, deep roll offs and mid lake humps will all hold fish
as long as the bait is present and with the warmer weather the bait isn’t
in a big hurry to move into the creeks. Spoons, drop shot needle worms and
single tail grubs are all producing fish from 25’ – 75’
deep over as much as 100’ of water. Around some of the exposed cedars
there is a good bite on a Chompers super sinker or salty sinker fished on
heavy fluorocarbon and a 1/8 oz. weight. Make multiple pitches to every cedar
in 6’ – 15’ of water and pay close attention to your line
as the bait falls since the bite is pretty light.
James River: Early and late a Jewel tandem rush spinner bait in white and
white / chartreuse fished tight to shallow cover has been very productive.
Once the sun comes up the fish will move out a little and can be caught on
a Lucky Craft RC 2.5 or a BDS 3 or 4 paralleled 6’ – 10 ‘
deep. Try to run your crankbait into every rock, log or tree that is that
depth. If the bite slows change up to an Eakins’ jig in Missouri craw
with a 4” Chompers jig trailer and fish the transition areas and channel
swings in the major creek arms.
White River: The deep bite is still your best bet below Shell Knob; drop shots
and spoons have been working best in trees and on bluff ends. In the Kings
the best bite early has been on a Jewel Lavender Shad spinnerbait in 2’
– 10’ of water in an around any wood cover. As the day goes on
switch over the an Eakins’ jig in PB&J with a cinnamon / purple
/ jelly 4” jig trailer and hit all the transition areas you find. In
the upper White a Lucky Craft BDS 3 or 4 will trigger strikes in the backs
of most of the major creeks around wood cover.
Dam Area: The deep bite has been producing a few nice fish this past week
with most of them coming on a drop shot worm or needle worm fish tight to
the tree tops. The Jewel football jig bite has been pretty good as well, look
for the fish to be from 15’ – 25’ deep on main lake points,
humps and roll offs, most of the fish have been coming on either brown / purple
flash or PB&J both matched up with a 5” Chomper jig trailer in cinnamon
/ purple / jelly.
