Missouri Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Table Rock 11/27/05:
Kimberling City Area: The deep bite is still a hit or miss
proposition the bait is moving daily and the fish are getting hard to pattern.
The most consistent bite has been on a spoon or drop shot finesse worm near
bluff ends, the fish have been suspended near trees 25’-50’ deep.
An Eakins’ jig fished on the shady side of boat docks is also producing
fish, with most of them coming on brown / purple flash or PB&J each with
a matching Chompers jig trailer.
James River: Everything is happening faster up the James, the water is cooling
faster, the shad have started to move into the creeks and the fish are much
easier to pattern. Jewel tandem rush spinnerbaits in white or white and chartreuse
will produce all day when it is windy, start toward the backs of the creeks
and work your way out making multiple casts to cedar trees and any other
wood cover.
White River: The deep bite in the Baxter and Campbell point area is still
pretty consistent, bluff ends, channel swings and any other areas that collect
shad continue to produce. Drop shots, grubs and white spoons will all catch
fish wherever shad area present. Main lake pea gravel / chunk rock points
will produce a few better fish on Jewel football jigs in PB&J with a
green pumpkin Jig trailer, you won’t get many bites but the quality
of fish is excellent.
Dam Area: The fish in the dam area are hard to stay with, every degree drop
in water temperature seems to move the bait and in turn the fish. Look for
wind blown areas that are natural stopping points to be holding shad and
fish; points, channel swings, tree rows and other pieces of cover and structure
will hold the shad as they move toward the backs of creeks. White spoons,
drop shot worms, grubs and Jewel Football jigs have all been effective in
these areas.
