Missouri Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Table Rock 12/11/05:
Kimberling City Area: A couple of dominate patterns in the
mid lake area; still a lot of fish being caught on Eakins’ jigs in
either brown / purple flash or PB&J with a green pumpkin Eakins’ craw
as a trailer fished around boat docks and deep channel swings, deep fishing
is really starting to get hot right now, white ¾ oz. spoons, drop
shot worms and single tailed grubs are all working on both the main lake
and in creek arms. I expect this bite to improve over the next few weeks.
James River: Dominate baits over the last week have been wiggle warts and
rogues. Most of the fish are coming on steeper banks and channel swing banks
with a mix of small and large rock, any wood cover is a plus. Windy banks
are producing much better than calm ones; remember that bass tend to “stack
up’ on the windy side of points and coves in the fall looking for bait
that is being moved in wind blown currents. Brown craw wiggle warts and any
shad colored rogue or other stick bait will be effective.
White River: The deep bite has been very good up from around Baxter to Shell
Knob on white spoons, drop shot rigged finesse worms and single tail grubs.
The majority of fish have been stacked up on secondary points in major creek
arms as well as on bluff ends on the main lake. Look for shad to be successful.
Up the Kings River there has been a pretty good spinnerbait and wiggle wart
bite over the past week or so, fish windy transition banks and points with
wood cover.
Dam Area: Allot of people fishing the dam area over the past weekend, fish
are being caught from 6” to 160’ deep depending on how you like
to fish. An Eakins’ jig and craw combo in PB&J / cinnamon / purple
has been very effective around boat docks and on channel swings. Spoons,
drop shot worms and grubs are working in and around schools of shad on both
the main lake and in creek arms. On windy days there has been a great wiggle
wart bite on rocky points and channel banks.
