Bass Fishing has taken a different turn with the cold weather
from the recent weeks. Avocado and grey beaver tail grubs(8 t/h oz lead head)
on a ultra light rig fished on the main lake swings are catching fish. Chrome
domes in the same manner are doing well. Brush piles in about 20 ft of water
are holding some good fish. Try vertically using a spoon.Slow dropping twin
spins off the bluff ends on the main lake are also productive. Work the ledges
slowly till you hit bottom. Try again and again. These fish are slow and
methodical in their feeding patterns .
Walleye are coming in but in smaller numbers than expect for this time of year.
Obviously the return to colder weather has reversed their pre spawning pattern.
Try slow drifting a live minnow or night crawler on a harness rig over the ridges
and humps near the main lake entrance to the primary feeder streams.
Crappie are still on the submerged brush but have dropped down from about 15
ft deep to 20 .Minnows ,jigs, chrome domes, and swimmin minnows are the thing to
use Some larger fish have a tendency to move slightly away from the brush. So
be sure to fish all areas methodically before moving on.

Whites,Hybrids ,and Stripers are feeding early and late mid
lake from Ace in the Hole to Big creek. The surface activity can be outstanding
if you are at the right place at the right time. Any top water lure or bait
thrown into the surface activity will generally net a fish.
