The weather has caused the fish to change patterns again. Knowing the region I am sure this will change again before spring really is ushered in.

BASS--- The bass are now returning to the feeder streams where they are feeding on shad and preparing for the rigors of the impending spawn. The STORM THUNDERSTICK (deep) in the Hot Tiger and Hot Green Specks are the choice right now. Wiggle warts have started taking fish but are not yet at their best. The v37 as always is the best bet.White single and tandem spinner bait is also taking fish. The new Mr. Twister HAWG CALLER is a spinner to trey. In the main lake ,off the bluff ends ,the Rattlin Pro-Model Jig by Strike King in Pumpkin green is the most productive right now.

Crappie are starting to move back towards the submerged trees but are not yet in large concentrated numbers. You need to work around the brush and be slow and methodical . Patience, right now, is the key. In a couple of weeks the species will be in full swing and the catching will be less trying on the anglers. Minnows are doing well but the swimmin minnow is the lure to use to catch the larger fish. Otter Creek Bait shop should have these items in stock along with B&B Bait and Tackle.

White Bass are getting ready to move into the feeder streams. Some fish are now being caught later in the after noon at the mouths of these traditional spawning streams. The best method right now is trolling using a silver Hot n Tot .

» It should be noted that COOKIES Restaurant at Theodosia Marina will be open for business on Friday March 3rd.
