Largemouth Bass are being caught in the shallow waters of the coves and feeder streams feeding primarily on shad. The best lures are Wiggle Warts v37 and white spinner baits with large blades. The most popular is the Strike King spinners. Most of the fish caught are close to shore in about 9 foot of water.

Crappie are staring to move towards their spawn beds on the feeder creek flats. The flats with sunken brush north of the Theodosia bridge in both Pond Fork and Little North Fork tributaries are excellent right now. Jig tipped minnows are doing the best but marabou jigs and roadrunners also will yield limits of fish.

White Bass are stacked waiting to run up the streams to spawn and are being caught in large numbers in the Theodosia area from Janian Point to the Forks north of the bridge. Any small minnow or shad imitation bait will get the job done. The most popular lures are roadrunners,Gay Blades,Mr.Champs, Hot n Tots, and one and half inch rebels.

With all the action in the area --- Tournaments this week end and the great White Bass and crappie fishing no report of walleye fishing has come across my desk. However I would bet money ,marbles ,and chalk that they too can be caught right now. As the water warms the fishing will only get better.
