Missouri Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Bull Shoals 04/22/06:
FISHING REPORT---BULL SHOALS LAKE in MISSOURI Pontiac-- Theodosia
,home of the Missouri State record Largemouth Bass.
Fishing is at its best of the season so far. Largemouth,Kentucky, and
Smallmouth Bass are hitting Lizards and French fries using a Carolina rig. The best
colors are Watermelon Pepper,Watermelon Red,and Pumpkinseed. The 6 inch version
of the ZOOM brand is apparently the selection of choice. Bass are also hitting
top water baits. Zara Spooks, floating worms,Pop R S etc are all catching
fish in good numbers.
Crappie are hitting the swimmin minnow close in tight next to the shore line
in the backs of the main lake coves. For best results fish a purple colored
swimmin minnow with by far the best brand being Krooked Creek. The next best
secondary color is brown.

White Bass are trying to 'shoal' in most of the feeder streams having limited
luck due to the low water conditions. Minnows and bone colored flukes are
doing extremely well!!
Blue gill are taking crickets and red wigglers on the spawn beds about 10
ft deep. These excellent fighting -tasting fish are normally located at the
entrances to the main lake coves where the bottom is predominantly small
pea gravel.
