The walleye action has slowed down just a little, but the crappie bite has really turned on. If you can get on the water at daylight you stand a good chance of catching a limit. The keeper sized crappie are biting jigs tipped with minnows or just a plain gold hook with a minnow and split shot. Fish around standing timber on bluff banks or brush piles in 6-30ft. Depending on the water clarity.

The largemouth in the Pontiac - Theodosia are really spread out throughout the water column. I've caught them as shallow as 6ft. and as deep as 30ft. The bigger largemouths are in small schools 6-10ft. suspended off points and in brush piles. There is also a good deep bite around trees in 28-40ft. over deeper water. For the suspended fish try using a suspending lure in a baby bass color or a drop shot rig with a watermelon/red bait.

A bluegill colored jig or a texas rigged tube with a chartruese tail will catch bass in the brush piles. The catfish are still being caught on a variety of baits but live bait is the best. Use bluegill or crawfish on juglines and trotlines 10-35ft. in the main channel around Theodosia. The water clarity in the Theodosia area is stained on the main lake and clear in the coves with temps. in the low 80'
