Arkansas Lakes Fishing Report
Lake - Bull Shoals 01/08/06:
Dam area to Lead Hill: A lot of fish being caught dragging
a Jewel 5/16 oz. spider jigs or 3” tubes in green pumpkin from 12’ – 40’ deep
on pea gravel points near deep water. Pay close attention to any rocks or
wood cover that you drag across as many fish will use the rocks and wood
as an ambush location and to hide from the sun.
Deep fishing is still strong look for fish to be following schools of bait
off of points and bluff ends, if you find the bait you will find the fish.
Lead Hill to Power site: An Eakins’ jig in Missouri Craw with a green
pumpkin trailer fished on channel swing banks toward the back of creek arms
continues to be productive. Most of the fish will be holding tight to any
cover that is on the channel swings and may take multiple casts to draw a
strike. On windy days a pointer, rogue or X-Rap has been very effective on
mixed rock points. You will likely catch a mixed bag of fish on these points,
whites, blacks and walleyes have all been grouping up and feeding on shad.
