Arkansas Lakes Fishing Report

Lake - Bull Shoals 01/30/06:

Dam area to Lead Hill: Spoons, drop shots and grubs all continue to catch fish in the dam area. Look for suspended schools of shad near points and flats close to deep water, the fish will be in and a around these schools of bait. Jewel spider jigs, Mann’s stingray grubs and Chomper spider grubs are all catching fish when fished slowly on the bottom from 20’ – 40’ deep, pay close attention to any cover that you run into on the bottom, many times fish will hide behind isolated pieces of cover on these banks.

Lead Hill to Power site: Jerkbaits are producing both bass and walleye up around the K-Dock area; look for windy, flat banks with a mix of rock and gravel and make perpendicular casts from 6’ – 25’ deep. Allow the bait to pause as long as 10 seconds on calm days and only 3-5 seconds on windy days. Lucky craft pointers in Nishiki and chartreuse shad have been the most productive baits.
