Things have'nt changed much since last weeks report. The lake level might rise a little due to recent rains which might put some color back in the water.

Water temps. are still in the 80's and the thermocline is in the 30 ft. range.

Walleye have been biting well this past week with several keepers caught and a few fish over four pounds being brought in. Try dragging a worm harness on main lake flats 30-40ft. deep. There are some walleye suspended around off shore structure but they have'nt been very active compared to
previous days.

Bass are still scattered out everywhere. You can catch them shallow and you can catch them deep. The shallow bass are around windy points and windy flats. The deep ones are around shad and brush piles 30-45ft. deep. Cast a spinnerbait or a rat-l-trap on these windy banks. Carolina rigged soft
plastics, football jigs, drop shot rigs, and spoons will catch the deep bass.

Crappie are around brush piles in 18-25ft. of water or suspended off shore near shad. Drop a minnow down in the brush or pull jigs off the flats and points at the same depths.

Remember to keep only what you can eat and release the rest for another day. Rick Culver of Wilderness Trail does the research for this report and the writing of this report.
