Hi Folks! This is Ron Schneider
with this week’s fishing report.
Both lakes have dropped slightly
again this week, water temperature is in the mid to upper 80’s.
On Bull Shoals, the bite
is still slow. There is some early morning top water Bass
action towards the back of major creek arms. Best baits are smaller
ones like Pop-R’s, Spit’N Image, Zara Spook Jr, or Chug
Bugs. Otherwise try around brush piles in the 28’ to 38’
of water. For Kentucky Bass try a little
deeper at 45’ to 55’, with fish just off the bottom. Try
jigging spoons, drop shot rigs, or live Shiners.
Walleye action has been good.
Try long line trolling with lead core line pulling Hot-N-Tots or Rip
Shads. Best depth is 28’ to 34’. Also working well is slow
trolling with bottom bouncers and Crawler or Leech rigs. The best time
seems to be 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM .
Until next week, this is Ron Schneider wishing you Peace and good fishing!
Report #2
Water temperature in the
Theodosia area is in the upper 80's and the water's stained.
Walleye were the most active
this past week. Main lake channel swing points and humps were the best
places to fish. Look for these walleye in 35-45 feet of water. Troll
worm harnesses or crankbaits to catch these walleye.
Bass are deep and shallow.
On windy days fish points with a Carolina rig or a spinnerbait , throw
jerkbaits and lipless crankbaits on flats , or fish main lake points
with a tube, grub , or a worm 20- 40ft.
Crappie are schooled along
channel edges or suspended around brush. Live minnows are hard to beat
but you can cover more water with crankbaits and jigs.
Catfish are being caught
on trotlines set in deep coves and along river channel banks. Set your
lines near the thermocline and use a variety of baits.
Remember to keep only what
you can eat and release the rest for another day. Rick Culver of Wilderness
Trail does the research for this report and the writing of this report.
