Kentucky Lakes Fishing Report

Lake - Lake Barkley 02/15/06:

Fishing and fishing activity have really slowed this past week. The water temps were in the upper 40's but has fallen to 40 degrees. Crappie and largemouth were good but when the water temps fell with all the snow and cold we had fishing got tough.

With the warm sun the next few days warming the shallow water , fishing will pick back up. While it was cold there was very little activity to report. Everyone was staying inside and warm. Fishing the tail waters has also slowed . The rivers are still
high below the dams.

This are typical fishing for mid February. Fishing can still be good when we have two or three warm days in a row. Be ready and when the sun shines fishing will be good those days.

TIP: Try shallow water in winter. Sometimes that has the warmer water.
